Job Description

  • Welding Operations: Perform MIG (GMAW) welding to join components using wire feeders and shielding gas. Utilize spot welding guns (often integrated technology or "IT" guns) to create resistance welds on overlapping metal sheets without filler material.
  • Production Monitoring: Monitor and adjust welding parameters (voltage, amperage, wire feed speed) on in-process, semi-automatic, or robotic machines to maintain quality.
  • Setup & Maintenance: Set up, clean, and maintain welding equipment (tips, nozzles, electrodes) and jigs/fixtures.
  • Quality Inspection: Conduct in-process inspections (visual or, in some cases, destructive/non-destructive testing) to ensure welds meet blueprints and engineering specs.
  • Troubleshooting & Improvement: Identify welding defects (e.g., porosity, misalignment) and troubleshoot equipment issues to reduce rework and downtime.
  • Safety & 5S: Adhere strictly to safety standards (PPE usage, fume control) and maintain a clean work area (5S).
